We have several events scheduled throughout the year for club members and their families.
We start the year with a New Years Day polar fly. This is a chance to start the year out right.
The Third Saturday in March is a Swap Meet located in St. Louis. This is the largest swap meet of the year that is within a short drive of our location. Members are able to take items to sell and shop for new items to buy. You never know what you will find at a swap meet. It is even fun just to spend time looking for that new project to build or find that part you have been needing to get your plane back into the air.
In May we participate in the St. Joe Park Open House. This is a chance for the park to show what they have to offer for the public to enjoy. They also have information about what improvements they have completed and what is planned for the future. It is a chance for the club to talk to people about our sport and invite spectators out to see us fly.
The Third week in May is a Scale contest at Fall of the Rough State Park in Kentucky. Several members like to attend this event and even compete in the competition.
The First Saturday in June is Country Days weekend in Farmington, MO. Our club sets up an information booth to tell more people about our club and where we are located.
The Second Saturday in June is our spring picnic. It is time for the club members and their families to get together and fellowship. There is a lot of great food and fantastic flying.
The Second Saturday in September is our fall picnic. At this picnic we hold an annual fun fly event. This is a lot of fun for pilots and spectators alike.
The first Sunday in November we attend a swap meet held in Columbia ILL. As with most of our road trips we start off with a good breakfast and fellowship with club members.
